PDF password security, privacy & limits
PDFs use two kinds of password protection. An open (user) password encrypts the file, so no one can view it without that password. An owner password sets permission restrictions that prevent editing, copying, or printing, while still letting the file open. Eliten removes both, but an open password always has to be entered correctly: the tool doesn’t guess or crack forgotten passwords.
